Vaccinenation

So I went to see my old boss, who had Covid. It was weird cause I always get paid to go over there, and now he was sick but they asked me to visit so do I get paid for that? B said no it's just a visit but I always think well better not set a precedence of free visits (what is this, friendship or something?) Of course I WOULD hang out with him for free, you would too, he's entertaining, funny, broadway stories, smart, actor/directory, nice warm dad, and most recently forgetful and a little bit paranoid. And now Covid.

Wasn't he vaccinated? He lives in Burbank. I'm pretty sure Burbank was the first city to be crop dusted with the vaccine like straight out of a plane raining down on everyone in front of their houses looking up gratefully with their mouths open. The only place more vaccine serum friendly would be Santa Monica.

So I had no doubt. I ran to get my vaccine first chance I got. I'm sure it was vaccines all around here. These people shop at Whole Foods. They're rich. I brought them some eggs from my chickens, and then his daughter came in and said time for your ivermectin

She's giving him a variety of shit inducing vitamins (at least that's what happened the last time I came there and he had to run to the bathroom after all his million vitamins) and I'm saying I can't believe he got Covid

Oh we ALL got it. She said. It ripped through their family like Edgar Allen Poe in a liquor store.

I'm so glad I gave him the ivermectin the week before he got sick. It coulda been so much worse, she says.

Worse than him sitting on oxygen right now looking like late stage Karen Carpenter after a full meal? Wasn't he just IN THE HOSPITAL for a WEEK?

Not even my horses like ivermectin. Not even my VET recommends ivermectin unless there's actual worms. I'm pretty sure Covid isn't worms.

She's holding up my eggs. "I better put a note on these, fresh eggs, leave on the counter. Wash before using."

No, I say, you don't wash fresh eggs.

"Really?"

Really, the hen lays a special coating over it that blocks the pores and keeps out bacteria. It's best NOT to wash the egg.

She looks a little confounded by that and I'm thinking you're worried about WASHING THE EGG?

Looking at her dad downing the horse wormer to fight a deadly virus.

Well I've never washed an egg yet, I say, getting up to go without being paid. And no one's gotten sick at our house.
